Is a health tech career right for you?
Roles - Health tech careers can be meaningful and there is rarely a dull moment as you help to health healthcare and advance human health using innovation and technology. Roles vary from those that are more leadership and involve working with lots of people and professions to those that are more technical and analytical. Careers are dynamic as health and tech are dynamic. Some positions are more business focused and others involve more computer science. For every technology that is created, many people are needed to help bridge the gaps. For every dose of technology, you need a double dose of humanity to ensure it works well in practice to achieve goals for all the people adopting it into their daily lives.
Teams/dynamic skills - It is not one skill set, yet a blending of skill sets and teams of people who will help to heal and advance human health and add more years to our life and life to our years. Personally as I reflect on decades in a career in health tech, I felt at times I needed the skill sets of doctor, nurse, manager, professor, psychiatric, programmer, entrepreneur, policy professional/lawyer, investigator, marketeer, ethicist, and even a magician/inventor who could use the equivalent of duct tape to quickly come up with an interim solution that worked.
